Take a look at your closet. Traditionally they have a shelf that runs across the top of the closet with a hanger rod that runs along right below it. Look above and see how much room that you have above the shelf. In most cases, there is wasted space between the shelf and the ceiling and you can make use of this space. Just buying a 12” wide board cut to length with some shelf hangers will also work great and not cost very much at all. Another easy space to gain is the area below the clothes that hang on the clothes rod. This is an area where you might put your laundry basket and pile up the shoes. This is another area where you can hang another shelf to gain a little more storage. You can get a box shelf that holds itself up in the air and just slides in there, or you can hang another shelf completely. Either way can be a nice chap way to really add to your storage space in most closets and keep the costs down.
